How merge field works

Merge Field can be used to insert dynamic content into emails, subject lines, and some Flow steps Merge Field  allows you to create highly personalized campaigns and journeys for your leads, users, and customers.

When  merge field  is used in an email, the value of that field will automatically be inserted once the email is sent to a person. When a person opens the email, they will see the value for that field and not the field itself.

 For instance, if you wanted to address people by their first name in an email, you would insert the following merge tag:

{{person.firstName}}

When a person receives your email, they will see their own name populated in the message.

How merge field is displayed

When you're editing an email or configuring a step that supports merge field, the style of the merge field will match that of the text. In other words, merge field don't have a unique style.

Ways to use merge field

Email subject lines

You can insert merge field in email subject lines with the Drag and drop Email builder 

 Other email fields

You can insert merge field in any of the email fields:

• From email
• From name

Email content

You can insert merge Field in the content of your emails.
